The Oceans & Wildlife Institute (OWI) is a U.S. 501c3 nonprofit that advances wildlife resiliency by leading
initiatives in wildlife disaster preparedness, response, rescue and recovery and building the workforce this takes. Its main arms are Wildlife Rescue Operations Center, Wildlife Resiliency Research Center, Wildlife Academy, and Texas State Aquarium, all located near Port Corpus Christi, the largest energy export port in the United States. OWI and its partners together rescue and recover thousands of sea turtles and other animals and release them back to the wild each year.
